Our meals are prepared and cooked in the school kitchen at Maylandsea Primary School and transported here for serving. Menus are shown on our website and displayed on our notice board outside the school office.
All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to a free school meal every day through Universal Free School Meals Funding. Any pupils in Years 3, 4, 5 & 6 that are entitled to free school meals can also receive a meal (please refer to FAQ section to see if your child/ren are eligible for free school meals). There is an opportunity for all others to purchase the meals, if they wish, which from 18th September 2023 costs £2.40 per meal.
All school dinners must be ordered and paid for on line via School Money schoolmoney.co.uk.

Please remember meals must be ordered in advance by the Thursday of the week before they are wanted. This is the same for all meals, if you pay for your child or are entitled to free school meals.

Jacket Potatoes are available every day served with Cheese, Beans or Tuna.
Salad bar and fresh fruit are available every day.
All meals are served with “Dessert of the Day”.
If you child has any dietary requirements please speak to the school office.

Morning Snack
Pupils are encouraged to bring a healthy snack for morning break. Pupils may bring water, fruit, dried fruit or vegetables. No nuts, chocolate or chocolate cereal bars please.

Children in Reception and Key Stage 1 receive a piece of fruit or vegetable for mid-morning snack every day.
Water
Please send your child into school each day with a clearly labelled water bottle. The children are able to refill their water bottles in their classrooms or at lunchtime. Please fill with water only (not juice or squash) because it is important to maintain hydration during the day and to avoid an over consumption of additional sugars or additives.

Milk
Milk is free for under 5’s and must be applied for through Cool Milk www.coolmilk.com
All children over 5 can have milk by applying through www.coolmilk.com
